Building Ceramics include floor, wall and roof tiles. The firing temperature ranges from 900°C to 1200°C for roof tile and from 1200°C to 1300°C for floor and wall tiles. They are fired either in shuttle kilns, or in continuous tunnel kilns, or in fast firing roller hearth kilns. Saint-Gobain Ceramics Materials delivers advanced SiC rolls for roller hearth kilns and complete kiln car construction for both shuttle kilns and tunnel kilns. |

Kiln furniture should not experience any deflection or distortion over service life, for compatibility with automated ware handling equipment. We respond to the requirements of the building ceramics manufacturers with a unique customized kiln furniture system combining Cordierite ( AnnaCorit) U and H-saggers and setters, with beams, stringers and batts made of advanced SiC products and a mullite ( AnnaMullit) posts base. According to the kind of shape and service conditions, the recommended SiC materials are either Silit® SK, or AnnaSicon® RT. |
